We’ve all learned how important it is to keep a backup of our mobile phones. You never know when it might break, get damaged beyond recovery, or even worse, be stolen. Unfortunately, the latter is exactly what happened to Maluma. The Colombian singer used his Instagram Stories to share the frustrating story of his recent theft.
The artist expressed his anger, explaining that while visiting the ‘Dos Aguas’ horse farm in Antioquía, Colombia, an anonymous person approached him as he was leaving, reached into his pocket, grabbed his phone, and took off running. “I was about to cause a scene, but I decided against it,” he remarked.
What makes it even worse is that Maluma wasn’t able to recover the backup of his device, meaning all his photos, videos, and passwords are lost, leaving him to ‘start from scratch.’
Even with everything that happened, Maluma left a message for the thieves. In the video, he mentioned that if the person or people who stole his phone see the video, he wants to encourage them to stop stealing. Instead, he suggested they put their energy into creating, making music, and producing art.
Social Media Comments
After the incident, social media was flooded with comments from various users. “If they rob him, and he’s from there, what chance does a tourist have?” one follower commented. “It’s really tough to start over without your contacts or anything,” another added.
It’s clear that the ‘Coco Loco’ singer won’t have any trouble buying a new phone, but no one can help him recover the memories stored on his old device. He’s already come to terms with the loss and is ready to start fresh
