Along with fame comes its challenges, like dealing with envy

The 2024 Premios Lo Nuestro have given us plenty to talk about, from the stunning outfits worn by our favorite artists to TINI‘s new haircut and her heartfelt acceptance speech for ‘Best Album,’ as well as her greeting to Milo J, who couldn’t believe she was acknowledging him. And let’s not forget her performance of «La Original» alongside Emilia.

Speaking of Emilia, she’s another Argentinean artist who’s been making waves and representing her homeland with pride. She’s shown that with dedication, dreams can become reality. But along with fame comes its challenges, like dealing with envy. Just like María Becerra faced an attempted sabotage from an artist who wanted her out from festival lineups, Emilia recently had to brush off a negative comment about her career.

What Happened?

In one of the singer’s recent posts on her social media accounts, a user commented: “How long will her career last? In two years, she’ll be back to selling bread on the street.” It’s important to note that Emilia’s family are mostly bakers, as she herself mentioned in an interview with ‘El Mundo’: “I grew up surrounded by bread, croissants, and cakes.”

Therefore, the user’s comment was bad intentioned, trying to belittle the singer’s beginnings. However, Emilia replied: “If I had to sell bread, I would do it with great pride.” Proudly honoring her family’s legacy.

Even though Emilia is highly talented and successful in her career, it’s important to remember that she’s also human. She’s been open about her mental health struggles, especially after experiencing bullying in the past. “I have a lot of insecurities, which were fueled by social media. I received many hurtful comments, and I used to believe them,” she said. Fortunately, the «No_Se_Ve.mp3» singer shows us that negative comments don’t define us, emphasizing the importance of believing in ourselves and taking pride in our roots.

Considering my origins and the opportunities I’ve had, success to me means achieving my goal of becoming a singer.”
