Rauw Alejandro has just released his fifth studio album, Cosa Nuestra. With this album, the Puerto Rican artist has started a new musical chapter, adopting a completely different style from his previous works, Saturno and Playa Saturno. His earlier music had a more ‘futuristic’ feel, mixed with urban sounds, but this time, he’s going for a much more elegant style. As Rauw himself explained, the title Cosa Nuestra comes from ‘Cosa Nostra,’ the nickname for the Sicilian mafia. “I was getting into that Italian mafia vibe too,” he said.
The album features 18 tracks, with 9 collaborations from big names like Bad Bunny, Feid, and Romeo Santos. While many songs are already big hits, one in particular has caught fans’ attention because it might be related to his ex, Rosalía.
As we know, Rauw and Rosalía had a relationship that became a fan favorite, but they ended their engagement in mid-2023 for reasons they haven’t explained. Afterward, Rauw dedicated the song ‘Hayami Hana’ to Rosalía, calling it the last song he would write for her. But now, after hearing Cosa Nuestra, fans think another track might also be about her.
Did Rauw Alejandro Send a Message to Rosalía?
In his song ‘Ni Me Conozco,’ Rauw may have sent a message to his ex-partner, as the song reflects on the pain of a breakup. In the intro, we hear the lyrics: “You’re no longer here. It’s hard to grasp that this is now my reality. I thought I got over you.” However, the verse that stands out the most is: “You didn’t give me the time, and an empire isn’t built in a day. Even if you want to rush the process.”
Instead of just a message, it could also be seen as a response to Rosalía’s song ‘Aislamiento,’ especially the line: “It’s the empire that destroys.
