2018
First Meeting
On January 10, 2018, Mexican-American singer Pepe Aguilar and his children, Ángela and Leonardo, announced the tour dates for their ‘Jaripeo Sin Fronteras’ tour at a press conference. During the event, they also announced they would be touring with an 18-year-old named Christian Nodal, who was also present.
At that time, Ángela was just 14 years old. And although they admitted their feelings for each other, they didn’t make anything official because of their age difference.

Shortly after, in January 2018, Ángela, Leonardo, and Nodal appeared on ‘El Show de El Piolín,’ a radio program to promote their tour. During the program, alongside singing some songs, they playfully joked about their love lives when asked how they would spend Valentine’s Day.
‘El Show del Piolín’ Again
Once again during this program in August 2018, while interviewing Christian, he appeared somewhat nervous during a video call with Ángela. Among the questions asked was when Nodal would collaborate with the Aguilar family again, if he missed her, along with an impromptu serenade.
In July, Christian and Ángela were nominees at the 2019 Premios Juventud in the ‘Agave de la Música Regional Mexicana’ category. They performed songs like «Volver, Volver,» «Sombras Nada Más,» and «Cielito Lindo» alongside Pipe Bueno during the awards ceremony.
The Grammy Museum Latin Music Gallery Opening
In November, Nodal and Ángela were invited as featured artists to inaugurate the Latin Music Gallery at the GRAMMY Museum in Los Angeles.

2020
First Collaboration: «Dime Cómo Quieres»
In November of 2020, amid the pandemic, Nodal and Aguilar released their debut song titled «Dime Cómo Quieres» (Tell Me How You Want). The song narrates Nodal’s character deeply in love with Ángela, who isn’t entirely moved by his efforts to win her over.

Three years later, in 2023, following the release of their collaboration, they performed the song live for the first time during one of Nodal’s sold-out concerts at Foro Sol in Mexico City.
Before announcing their relationship, Nodal had several well-known relationships. First, with Maria Fernanda, the daughter of former soccer player Daniel ‘Travieso’ Guzmán. Later, he was engaged to Belinda, but they did not marry. His next relationship was with Cazzu, with whom he shares a daughter named Inti. Now, finally, Christian and Ángela are ready to ‘move forward,’ as they have expressed, in their love story.
On her part, Ángela was involved with 33-year-old composer Gussy Lau when she was 18. Later, she dated musician Rubén Berumen, who appeared in the video «Corazoncito Tirano.» Finally, she had a relationship with American football player Josh Ball.
