Belinda’s Parents Reveal the Cause of Her Emergency Surgery

Belinda caused concern among her fans a few days ago when she suddenly canceled her performance at the ‘Expo Feria Coatza’ in the Mexican city of Veracruz, which was scheduled for the following day, March 22nd. In a statement, it was revealed that the reason for the cancellation was due to health problems, and upon the doctor’s orders, she had to be hospitalized.

The «Cactus» singer shared a post on her Instagram story from the hospital, showing her hooked up to an IV, lying on a hospital bed, and holding a stuffed animal. They emphasized the importance of prioritizing health above all else. However, ‘Beli’ did not disclose the specific reason for her emergency hospitalization.

Why the Surgery Was Needed

Although family members did not immediately speak about the singer’s surgery, Belinda’s mother confirmed that doctors had to remove a tumor from the artist. Thankfully, the tests showed it wasn’t cancerous, which was a huge relief for her family and all her devoted fans. 

According to El Financiero newspaper, the actress and singer’s father commented on the situation, stating, “It was an emergency related to… I don’t understand the medical terms either, and I haven’t brought any analyses (to explain). It was a scare, but fortunately, there haven’t been any major problems.”

According to some media reports, Belinda thanked her fans on Instagram for their supportive messages and stressed the importance of prioritizing health. “To all who have been asking and sending supportive messages, thank you very much. These past months, I’ve been working tirelessly, wrapping up my album and simultaneously filming a series that demands a lot of effort and discipline.”

Moreover, a few days after her surgery and following Belinda’s mother’s statement, the singer returned to her social media platforms, sharing a story. The post featured a screenshot of the cover of her song «Llórame un río,» a duet with the renowned Spanish artist, Enrique Iglesias. She also shared it on X. 

     Wow, I can’t believe I have a song with Enrique Iglesias.”
