Belinda Calls Off Collaboration with Marca Registrada After ‘Joke’

Many users were also upset about what happened

Belinda has been a big name in Mexico’s entertainment world for a while now. Her return to music has been pretty strong, especially with her first single «Cactus,» which has that ‘corridos tumbados’ vibe, followed by «300 Noches,» her collaboration with Natanael Cano. Recently, she revealed that all the songs on her upcoming album are dedicated to someone. We know «Cactus» was for her ex, Christian Nodal, and there are rumors «300 Noches» is about another relationship.

Despite being pretty private about her personal life and not liking gossip, Belinda knows that expressing herself comes with its challenges. So, she’s using her music to let it all out. Given her experiences, she’s made it clear she won’t put up with insensitive ‘jokes’ or anyone trying to shame her for her past. We’re bringing this up because Belinda recently cut off Marca Registrada, taking away their chance to collaborate with her.

What Happened?

This decision came after the band’s lead singer made a joke that didn’t sit well with her. In an interview, Fidel Castro talked about her and her past relationship with Nodal.

The drama started when Fidel from Marca Registrada said on Instagram that the song they planned to do with Belinda would now be a solo release. Many were annoyed by how they announced it, joking that the song would be called «La huérfana» (The Orphan). They posted, “We’ll call it ‘La huérfana’. No Beli, no Kenini, just MR.” But after that post, they weren’t ready for Belinda’s response, as she quickly cut ties with them.

Many users were also upset about what happened. Comments like “It’s not going to happen because of Fidel the loudmouth”, “If it’s a hit, we should get a tattoo, you in? (it’s definitely going to be a hit),” “It would have sounded better with Belinda”, “I really wanted it with Beli,” “Without Belinda, it’s not going to work. That’s just the way it is,” show how online users felt disappointed by the cancellation of the duet.

What Else Did He Say?

Fidel apparently annoyed Belinda when he shared his views on tattoos, mentioning that they were ‘anti-eye tattoos,’ which referred to a tattoo that Christian Nodal, the singer of «Botella tras botella», once had of the singer’s eyes.

In addition to his previous comments, Fidel also mentioned that he didn’t have money to give away, which many took as a subtle nod to the accusations Nodal had made against his ex. He said, “No, we’re against eye tattoos. And we don’t have money to give away.” What do you think about these remarks? Do you feel they were inappropriate?
