Karol G is undoubtedly living one of the best moments of her career. She is one of our urban queens, recently becoming the first female artist to have a full Spanish-speaking album at the top of Billboard 200 chart, her history-making ‘Mañana Será Bonito’. She’s even breaking the scene blanketing charts with her uplifting hits while tickets for her U.S. Stadium Tour are selling fast. Now we see her again give an amazing tiny desk concert for NPR, surrounded by other women artists.

“I really have to say that I’m super proud of all of them because this show is special”, she said about her team. “I’m feeling in my home, in the living room, with my people, so thank you for this amazing moment”.

Looking Radiant Amidst Controversy

Although Karol confessed she was a bit nervous, she delivered an amazing performance with her smooth and brilliant voice. Listening to her in this register is simply magical. The Colombian star sang some of her recent hits, including ‘Carolina’, ‘Pero Tú’, and brought some Mexican vibes with ‘Gucci Los Paños’.

In fact, this last song seems to be a response to what now has turned into a polemic starring her ex-partner Anuel AA, who has repeatedly tried to get her attention with songs, hints, and even tagging her in photos and publicly attacking Feid (with whom the artist is reportedly dating).

«No sé por qué p**** me pides que vuelva, si fuiste tú el que mandó eso pa la m*****”. “Eso de rogar tú lo haces con cualquiera, pero yo no soy cualquiera». Karol G

This makes perfect sense if we remember that Karol G has confessed in her last interview that her personal life has an important influence on her songs. “Most of my songs are about a very personal story, and I think that realness is what connects with people, even if they don’t know the lyrics. It’s all about energy,” she says in W Magazine.
