Believe it or not, you’ve been listening to Feid’s songs for longer than you think. Salomón Villada Hoyos, a.k.a. Feid or Ferxxo, has turned into one of today’s most sought-after artists in urban music scene. Celebrating reggaeton, the Colombian singer quickly climbed the charts in a sudden way, making his songs play all over the world. But he isn’t new to the game: Feid has already composed several hits for other big voices in the industry. This is the so-called ‘Feid’ phenomenon.
Let ‘s start from the beginning. Salomón was born in Medellín on August 19,1992. Although he started by getting interested in playing the clarinet, soon he discovered that singing was his real passion. Because of this, he began to delight the attendees numerous school parties, birthdays and other private meetings with his voice.
Ferxxo started singing in the university chorus and then he discovered that reggaeton was really burning hot in the music scene. «I got busy learning to sing and learning to perform”, states Feid in an interview with ‘El Tiempo’ magazine. His first single is ‘Morena’, which was listened to a lot in countries like Ecuador and Colombia, among others.
Since then, his talent has reached artists as successful as J Balvin, for whom he composed ‘Ginza’. The song immediately became a great hit and Universal Music decided to sign him. It was then when he joined J Balvin in ‘Qué raro’. Then everybody got to know who was the groundbreaking composer behind singles like CNCO ‘Mamita’, Balvin ‘Sigo extrañándote’, Piso 21 ‘Besándote’, Anitta ‘Rosa’ and Prince Royce ft. Nicky Jam ‘Come y te vas’, among others.
More and more artists have been thrilled to collaborate with Feid during the last years. ‘PORFA’ with Justin Quiles, ‘Fresh Kerias’ with Maluma, ‘Hey Mor’ with Ozuna, ‘Friki’ with Karol G and ‘Borraxxa’ with Manuel Turizo are only some of the collabs you may have heard. He is also shaking the scene with ‘Yandel 150’ featuring reggaeton legend Yandel.
Moreover, his own songs included in albums like ‘FERXXO (Vol.1: M.O.R)‘ and ‘Feliz Cumpleaños Ferxxo Te pirateamos El Álbum’ have fully conquered the hearts of millions of young fans all over the world, who have shared them in social media. In this sense, TikTok has influenced, and a lot, in the expansion of his success, as thousands and thousands of users have used his songs for their videos, which has made his voice reach even further.
Style and Urban dictionary
What also defines Feid’s success is the universe that has been created around him. Green is his favorite color and the one that represents him, which is why his fans have turned his concerts into a real greenish tide. He even has some words that only he and his fans understand. All of them, of course, related to the Colombian slang he constantly boasts: Mor (love), chimbita (woman), farrear (partying), nea (parcero or someone from the neighborhood), chorro (drink)…. Using these terms turns you directly into one of the Ferxxo’s army.
He also stands out for his unique style. Ferxxxo’s sunglasses and cap represent elements that are never missing in the outfits of our protagonist, something that characterizes him and by which everyone immediately identifies him. Some other artists have even copied his style.

Ferxxo’s success has crossed borders to a level that several artists name him in their songs.
