Yes, Miley Cyrus did it again. After breaking the Internet with the breakup hit ‘Flowers’, the pop star shook the scene one more time with her latest drop, ‘Jaded’, a song about introspection and sadness after a problematic love separation.

Once again, social media is full of analyses that try to situate this single in the timeline of her relationship with Liam Hemsworth. In fact, ‘Jaded’ represents one of the final stages of the grief process, where we can already see an acceptance around the situation, but also a look back at what happened and what might have been.

‘Jaded’ and ‘Adore You’

In the music video directed by Jack Bixenman, we see the ‘Endless Summer Vacation’ singer pose on the bed that she once shared with Hemsworth. Now the artist has taken the courage to make it clear that she’s capable of giving him all the love that he never knew how to give her. The clip also captures several key locations in her new home, such as the aforementioned bedroom, or the pool, among others.

After watching the video, many fans have pointed out that it’s a tribute to an old love song of Miley; the iconic ‘Adore You’, included in Bangerz. A tribute that also represents the return to its origins represented in her new look, in which she has chosen a hairstyle in two colors. Very reminiscent of Hannah Montana, we must say.

Moreover, some have taken the opportunity to compare frames between one music clip and another. According to Rolling Stone, «it was filmed in the same bed she once shared with Liam Hemsworth, showing the story of an infidelity by a couple who have become disillusioned and failed to appreciate the person next to them».

But, of course, there are other theories. For example, Pitchfork notes that the pool symbolizes their past relationship. The depth represents the dimension of their lies and betrayals. And her gold bodysuit (very similar to the Flowers’ dress) represents both courage and her worth, such that, when she emerges from the pool, she rises above the toxicity, leaving Liam to drown in the consequences of his actions.

And you? What do you think about Miley’s new drop?
