Finally, after much anticipation, we get to hear the ‘Ta Ok’ remix featuring the Colombian artists Karol G and Maluma. With such a vibrant rhythm, Brazil is experiencing a golden age of music. Stars like Anitta have demonstrated that the melodies originating from the country are ideal for captivating audiences worldwide.
Dennis is well aware of this, and this summer, he is conquering the charts with the song ‘Tá OK,’ which is currently hitting hard in Brazil, inviting us to dance from the very first moment.
However, to reach a wider audience, he needed the collaboration of two global stars. So, what did he do? He directly called Medellín.
With two of the world’s most famous Colombians artists, Karol G and Maluma, Dennis has once again embraced the same melody that worked so well in the original: loaded with funk samples and electronic percussion. But he added a new and crucial element: reggaeton.
The artists have embraced a 2000 Rio Funk aesthetic, brought to life by the highly successful director of the moment: Phil Mendonça. He is known for filming videos for Anitta, Melum, and Luan Santana.
What do you think about this remix?
Without a doubt, Karol G is currently experiencing one of the best moments of her professional career. The Colombian star has become one of the most listened-to artists in the world thanks to her album Mañana será bonito (Tomorrow Will Be Beautiful).
In fact, on August 11th, she is set to release an expansion of her album titled Mañana será bonito Bichota Season.
Yesterday, Karol delighted us by sharing a preview of the music video on her Instagram account. In the post, we could see her looking amazing with her signature fantasy pink hair, but people started speculating if her two green strands was a loving nod to her boyfriend, Feid (as green is associated with the artist), or if it was a subtle homage to Brazil by incorporating the colors of its flag into her hair.
In the snippets Karol shared, we got a glimpse of her confidently riding on the back of a motorcycle, dancing and singing to the catchy tune of «toma, toma, toma, toma.»
The singer shared her excitement about being part of this project, as she fell in love with the song from the moment she first heard it:
I can say that this is probably one of the projects of the year that excites me the most. I loved this song from the moment I heard it, and I couldn’t wait to ask to participate in the Remix. I am eager to sing and dance it with my entire Brazilian family.»
It’s no surprise that Karol G and Maluma wanted to join this remix. After all, the original song has already more than 100 million streams on various platforms. Will the remix achieve the same success? We are sure it will.
