Anitta has become one of the most important Latin artists in the international scene and is determined to keep climbing positions until she reaches the top.

Moreover, she is doing it with a studio album where she pays homage to her roots and also at a time when she is training as an actress alongside Élite, the Netflix teenage phenomenon. The Brazilian star talked about all of this and much more with Tony Aguilar on LOS40 Global Show.

‘Funk Rave’, an Introduction

«I’m working on a new album, and my intention is to give people my Brazilian culture. In the ‘Funk Rave’ music video, you can see the place where I was born. When people listen to this song, they can feel my culture and the street rhythm. I do it because my homeland is a priority for me, and this way the audience can also understand who I am. It makes me unique, it makes me different because it’s my country, you know? It’s my roots. The next world rhythm will be Brazilian funk.»

The Champions League Final

«Singing at the Champions League was an unforgettable and enormous thrill. It’s an event that the whole world is watching, and singing there was a unique experience. I got very nervous, but it was an incredible opportunity to showcase my new song.»

The Vinicius Jr Polemic

«I would defend him even if he weren’t my friend. Everyone needs to speak up and take a stance on something that is so serious, so delicate, and so ugly. Vinicius, moreover, is a person with the best heart. When you see the images from football and see that this has happened before… People use these moments to practice racism and say terrible things. There should be laws that protect individuals and prohibit these things from happening. In Brazil, there is now a law that if there is any act of racism, the match is automatically interrupted. It’s more than an ugly stance, it’s a crime.»

What’s Next

«My entire album is already ready. I have over 40 songs to choose from. Now I’m fulfilling the dream I wanted, and my whole album has the sound of Brazilian funk. It’s my own sound, my own culture. I’m no longer trying to do what everyone else is already doing. I had the opportunity to do something that is truly mine. There’s a lot of Brazilian funk coming.»

«I’m not a student in ‘Élite,’ I’m already 30 years old. I’m not here to be a student. My character is incredible. I liked it because it gave me the opportunity to grow in a series that I was already a fan of. The production is huge, and everyone is very professional. I’m happy and excited for the season to come out.»
