Yes, Sweden has won one more year the Eurovision! The 67th edition of the most important music contest in the world has a new winner country and it has been thanks to the candidature composed by Loreen and the song ‘Tattoo’, delivering a dazzling performance. The artist has made history becoming the first woman to win the competition twice, since she already got the coveted price back in 2012 with the iconic hit ‘Euphoria’.
Since the representative and the song chosen to compete in the grand final of Eurovision 2023 were known, Sweden quickly climbed positions among the favorites reflected by the bookmakers, becoming the country with one of the highest odds, well above Ukraine, which until then remained the first due to the ongoing conflict with Russia.
Finally, Sweden has become the winner of this edition of the Festival, although it has been very close until the last minute because of the public votes, which are always very surprising. The country has clearly prevailed over Finland – the other great favorite – Israel and Italy, which have occupied the following positions in the final ranking after adding the points of the professional jury and the televote. In total, Sweden scored 583 points compared to Finland’s 526.
Here is the complete list with the top ten of the ranking:
As the winner of Eurovision 2023, Sweden will have the privilege of hosting next year’s 68th Eurovision Song Contest. It is still too early to know which city will be the host, but let’s remember that on previous occasions it was split: one year it was held in Malmö and another in Stockholm. Will either of these two cities repeat or will Sweden opt for another location? What we are sure of is that Loreen will play a key role and will once again offer a great show to the whole audience, this time as a guest star.
