Rauw Alejandro’s Drops ‘Playa Saturno’ Album

Rauw Alejandro doesn’t need any introduction after all the massive success he has been experiencing. Today, July 7, 2023, his newest album “Playa Saturno” was released with 14 songs and collaborations with artists such as the Spanish famous singer “Miguel Bosé”, the Regional Mexican artist “Junior H”, “Bizarrap”, “Ñejo y Dálmata”, “Jowell y Randy”, and “Ivy Queen”. 

The Puerto Rican artist said that this album is dedicated to both classic and modern reggaeton fans, especially his compatriots in Puerto Rico. He also expressed his sense of nostalgia and homesickness. 

     Being away from home really is like living on Saturn».

On his Instagram account, he posted a series of pictures and expressed in the caption how special this album is to him. He described it as a project where he was able to experiment and explore various musical sounds. Despite touring the world for this album, his thoughts were often on summer, the season that holds many of his cherished memories and adventures. Particularly, he reminisced about times near the beach in Puerto Rico, where music was always a part of those experiences.

In the first song, “Playa Saturno Intro”, Alejandro dedicates the project to his fans:  

“They are one of the people I think about the most. I make music because it makes me happy, but I also do it for you, to be with you in every moment of your life, regardless of your emotional state. In all the experiences that you cannot forget, I also want to be there. I hope we can always be connected. Welcome to Saturno Beach. Thanks for being my fan.»

Rauw revealed that a Saturn spinoff was coming up in an interview with Variety in May, «It’s not a prequel. It’s like when you’re watching a movie and there’s another storyline that happens while the movie happens in parallel: I have such a Saturn album”.
