Peso Pluma is undeniably one of the most talked-about artists in 2023. Ever since he burst onto the scene with his ‘corridos tumbados’ and his collaboration on the song «Ella Baila Sola» with Eslabón Armando, the 24-year-old Mexican artist has been consistently making headlines, and his success just keeps growing. However, along with the increasing fame that this young artist has experienced, come criticisms and media scrutiny that aren’t always friendly.
On November 11th, the Mexican singer took the stage at one of the largest and most prestigious venues in Mexico City, Foro Sol, with an approximate capacity of 65,000 people. Several media outlets claimed that the singer ‘hadn’t sold’ tickets, which ranged in price from 820 to 4,500 Mexican pesos (approximately 46 to 255 dollars). Interestingly, these tickets were even part of the Ocesa Concert Week’s ‘2-for-1’ promotion. However, his concert was jam-packed, with thousands of enthusiastic fans eager to witness him in action.
Quite proud to have filled the Foro Sol, Hassan Emilio (Pluma’s real name) responded to all the media outlets that didn’t believe in him. “To all the d*** sensationalist media outlets that criticized us, saying we couldn’t sell a single d*** ticket, here’s your packed Foro Sol. Do you want it this full, or even more?”

The Mexican artist kicked off his concert with the track «Rubicon» and had several special guests. Among them were Jasiel Nuñez, who was the first to join la Doble P. The renowned rappers Alemán and Arcángel, with whom he recently released a collaboration titled «La Chamba,» also made appearances. With heartfelt gratitude, Hassan introduced Eduin Caz from Grupo Firme, and closed the show on a high note, joined by the young and pioneer of the ‘corridos tumbados,’ Natanael Cano. Finally, Gabito Ballesteros, with whom he has collaborated on several occasions.
