Micro TDH, whose real name is Fernando Daniel Morillo Rivas (Venezuela, 1999), has become one of the references in the urban genre after a precocious rise to success with songs like ‘Cafuné’, Bésame Sin Sentir and Confianza. A stardom that reached its peak with the collaboration ‘Te Vi’ with the successful Colombian band Piso 21.
With an innovative and experimental style, the artist is leaving his personal mark on the industry by flowing through different genres, incorporating elements ranging from rap, to trap, R&B, reggae, soul and dancehall, among others.
During his recent tour in Spain, we talked to Micro TDH about everything behind his young success in music, his references and influences, as well as his future collaborations, projects and concerts.
Micro TDH has revealed to Los40 that he will take advantage of his time in Spain to collaborate with his friend Soge Culebra, the Murcian rapper who caused a sensation by incorporating reggae into his lyrics. The artist has even collaborated with some of the biggest names in the industry such as Yandel, Myke Towers or Pablo Alborán, but he also confessed to Los40 USA what his dream collaborations with American artists would be.
«I would love to collaborate with Bruno Mars and Kehlani. She is an R&B artist from San Francisco, I met her at Lollapalooza. I once did a Spanish cover of a song of hers and we talked about it. She told me she knew me», he says. «I see her as close, I don’t see it as something so impossible. But if one day I collaborate with Bruno I can die peacefully».
In this regard, we asked the artist what he looks for in a collaboration. «First of all, that there is good music and secondly, that there is a good connection. When two artists don’t vibrate on the same frequency, that is impregnated in the music as well,» he answers.

Creating Your Own Style: References and Influences
Micro TDH told us that many of his influences are actually great immortal music icons. «I’m a big fan of Michael Jackson, the legends of the old days. I think I really like that essence. That magic that the artists of yesteryear had, when they would stand still half an hour before starting a show and people were already swooning and going crazy…I find it very pro on the part of the precursors of popular culture,» he says.
When asked about his references, his head goes straight to the urban scene of his country, Venezuela. «I’m a big fan of Canserbero and the national rap scene in my country,» he says. On the other hand, he also points out that among his great references we can again find Michael Jackson and other great artists. «Bob Marley, Amy Winehouse, Kehlani... there’s a little bit of everything. They change over the years, adding new people…», says the artist.
Regarding his style, he indicates that the word that defines him is versatile, as he demonstrates in several of his successful songs such as ‘Volver’, ‘Ámate’ or ‘x ti – Remix’ with Paula Cendejas.
«I’m an artist that can adapt to any genre, I always like to soak myself well in the essence of each genre before doing it…I think that makes me versatile. I’m very flexible when it comes to making music.»
Tips for Success in the Industry
Micro TDH has a clear answer to the question «What advice would you give to those people who want to follow in your footsteps?»: «Don’t follow in my footsteps», he answers.
In this case, the artist believes that each person has to carve their own path according to their circumstances: «Each path is unique, unrepeatable. Each person has their own shine, their own angel, their own light. Regardless of their references, I would tell them to always try to surround themselves with transparent people, to enjoy the process… Sometimes you dream, but dreams can be really dangerous if you don’t measure them well,» he says.
What the rapper is clear about is the best advice he has received: «Don’t be so precocious. Always wait for the right moment. There are ways to do things. And other advice that a friend told me many years ago: save money and always surround yourself with people younger than you. Because they are more up to date with what is happening» he adds.
