Dua Lipa turned 28 years old this past August 22. However, the British-Albanian artist is extending the celebration for several days on one of the incredibly famous Spanish islands: Ibiza. Because there’s nothing like a getaway on the shores of the Mediterranean to celebrate your birthday. Sun, private coves, and crystal-clear seawater in the company of your loved ones. What more could one ask for in life?
Well, the singer of «Dance The Night» has taken a step further by fully immersing herself in Spanish culture and cuisine. Not only has she eaten paella (or ‘rice with things,’ as some might say), as we’ve been able to see through the Instagram profile of her friend, the designer Simon Porte Jacquemus, but she has also danced flamenco… and even played pétanque –which, despite its French origins, is also quite popular in Spain!
On her Instagram account, she has included us in her twenty-eighth journey around the sun through various posts in which she has shared intimate and fun moments with her friends, her siblings, and Romain Gavras, her current partner.
Posing in a spectacular red dress, blowing out the candles on her cake, dancing rumba, salsa, and flamenco to the rhythm of «Bamboléo» by the Gipsy Kings, a song that also captured the heart of another English artist like Coldplay back in May. The band didn’t hesitate to perform this hit live for their audience in Barcelona alongside the Spanish group themselves at the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium.
The turquoise fringe dress has been another one of the outfits she has worn during the scorching nights of this August. A look that has captivated her fans thanks to the sway of her dance moves. With this evening gown, we have seen her let loose, shout the occasional ‘olé,’ all while never stopping smiling.
Likewise, we’ve been able to read that she has made a big wish for her birthday. She’ll let us know if it comes true. But for now, our wish is for her fourth studio album to be as successful as the previous Future Nostalgia and once again make us feel like we’re levitating on air.
