One of the great things about music is its ability to facilitate experimentation, as we have seen, or rather heard, on other occasions when collaborations that might initially seem like a blend of somewhat unusual styles are the ones that leave a mark in history.
In recent years, there have been several instances of collaborations between artists that no one could have imagined, such as the pairing of Quevedo with Ed Sheeran, Maná with Steve Aoki, Tony Bennett with Chayanne, Ariana Grande with Andrea Bocelli, or Miley Cyrus with David Bisbal, and the list could go on with more unexpected duets.
Can you imagine a song by Taylor Swift with Carlos Santana? Well, that is precisely one of the goals currently on the mind of the virtuoso Mexican guitarist. During a press conference convened due to the recent release of his documentary, «Carlos,» journalists asked him which artist he would like to collaborate with.
Initially, he began by mentioning some legendary names from the international scene such as Eric Clapton or the band Metallica. However, Santana also admitted that he would like to collaborate with three of the most influential female voices today, namely Taylor Swift, Adele, or Beyoncé.

But the Mexican-American musician doesn’t stop there; he has added more names to his personal list of dream collaborations. «I would like to delve into music for the youth, whether it’s rap, like Jay-Z. I want to stay relevant. I don’t want to be a ghost on a jukebox,» declared Santana, who has spent nearly 60 years on stage and has sold over 100 million albums, both solo and with his group Santana.
Since September 23rd and until September 27th, you can watch «Carlos: Estreno mundial de la historia de Santana» in theaters, the documentary that Carlos Santana has prepared with director Rudy Valdez.
The film is presented as a tribute to the guitarist’s musical career, featuring unpublished footage of Santana with his family, in the studio, or backstage at concerts. Additionally, it includes exclusive interviews with various prominent figures in the music industry, such as producer Clive Davis, with whom he recorded several albums.
