Fortunately, we won’t have to wait long to listen to the complete song and see the final result of the music video, as it will be released on platforms on July 13.

«What I Was Made For?»

And just like Dua Lipa portrayed all the mermaids in the movie, Billie Eilish takes on the role of Barbie, briefly returning to the blonde hair (this time with bangs and a ponytail) to embody the most famous doll in our history.

Her melancholic expression, the first notes of the piano, and the song’s title itself, which directly transports us to a moment of existential anguish for the doll, lead us to believe that we will hear it in some of the film’s toughest scenes.

Here, Billie Eilish completes a soundtrack with true stars, featuring names like Dua Lipa, Nicki Minaj, Ice Spice, Sam Smith, Aqua, Karol G, Lizzo and Charlie XCX. Even Ryan Gosling himself wanted to revisit his singing role that he showcased in La La Land by performing «I’m Just A Ken,» a phrase that is part of the movie’s slogan.

“When we heard about it, I was like, ‘Well, yeah.’ And then it was like, obviously you gotta see what you’re working with and then go from there. But I was pretty in. I think we were both pretty in right away. And then as soon as we saw a couple clips of it, it was over. It was like, ‘Okay, we’re doing this, ” the artist declared to Entertainment Tonight in the Los Angeles premiere of the movie.
