On September 9 and 10, 2023, the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City contemplated the birth of one of the festivals that promises to be one of the best in Mexico. Also the most important in the world for regional Mexican music, for its the first ever festival dedicated to Mexican music, its culture and roots.

It’s time to celebrate our land! From Mexico to the world comes ARRE HSBC, a new festival with the sole purpose of exalting our musical culture and its roots, to remind the entire planet that Mexico is a country full of talent and traditions. The first edition will bring together the top artists of the moment in an unprecedented experience that will make your senses dance” –Arre Official Website.

Much like the uncertainty that often accompanies something new and the feelings of anxiety and fear of the unknown, the Arre Festival concluded with a positive outcome.

This edition could be likened to a ‘pilot phase,’ and, as expected, it earned the approval of the audience. Although the attendance during the early hours of the first day was not as high as some other festivals, more people gradually joined in as the night went on.

Celebrating the Heartbeat of Mexican Music

Day 1

The inaugural Arre festival featured bands that have not only etched a permanent place in the hearts of Mexicans but also among Latin audiences worldwide. Names like Fuerza Regida, Gabito Ballesteros, La Arrolladora Banda Limón, Marca Registrada, and Pequeño Musicales, to name a few, graced the stage.

Regional music owes much of its charm to its talented women, and that’s why the presence of icons like Alicia Villarreal and Chiquis was an indispensable part of this grand opening.

Taking the reins and bringing the night to a spectacular close was none other than Natanael Cano, with his signature corridos tumbados. His two-hour performance left no soul untouched, leaving us all thoroughly satisfied by the end of this remarkable festival.

Day 2

As the sun was setting on the second day of the Arre Festival, the uncertainty and anticipation surrounding the Washington brothers’ (Yahritza y su Esencia) performance hung in the air.

Surprisingly, it appeared that 7 out of 10 Mexicans had forgiven Yahritza y su Esencia, who delivered an unforgettable performance.

The seamless fusion of dance courtesy of Sonora Dinamita and the soulful tunes from Pesado, despite the late hour, had us all heating up for what lay ahead.

We hope this isn’t the grand finale but the beginning of a party that promises many more incredible moments.
