Rosalía is about to create a stir in Seville. This Thursday, the 2023 Latin Grammy Awards are being held in the Andalusian city, marking the first time the Academy has chosen Spain to host its awards in the country. One of the confirmed artists to perform at the gala is the singer of «BESO,» and there are already theories about her performance.
On Spanish Radio 3’s program «Duendeando,» journalist Teo Sánchez confirms that the Catalan diva is preparing something significant. «Rosalía is preparing something global. The abundance and quality of flamenco artists surrounding her on stage are infinite. Many guitarists, perhaps many palmists? We will see on Thursday,» he assured.

What is clear is that being an expert and enthusiast of flamenco, and with the awards taking place in a city with such a deep-rooted flamenco culture, Seville, the show offered by the singer of «Despechá» will be a beautiful tribute to this musical genre.
The songs she will perform at the gala are unknown at this time, but it’s not Rosalía’s first performance at the Latin Grammys. In 2019, she sang «A Palé» and «Con Altura» live, and last year she sang «Hentai» and «Despechá,» so it can be expected that she won’t repeat these songs.
Perhaps things lean more towards the singer’s latest releases, suclah as «Tuya,» although it’s worth noting her collaboration ‘RR’ with her now ex-fiancé Rauw Alejandro, featuring some of the most iconic hits of the year, namely «BESO,» «VAMPIROS,» and «PROMESA.» However, considering the most recent events, it doesn’t seem like these songs will be part of the artist’s setlist.
If we go by the most recent information up to now, it’s more than likely that Rosalía will choose some songs from her prestigious «El Mal Querer,» (2018) which recently celebrated its fifth anniversary and serves as a clear example of her style and identity, blending flamenco with pop, reggaeton, and experimental rhythms.

Rosalía will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of the night, not only because of her show (which also), but she is nominated in one of the main categories. Nothing more and nothing less than Record of the Year for «Despechá.» And if anyone knows the weight of a Latin Grammy award, it’s the singer of «BIZCOCHITO»; last year, she swept the board with her album «Motomami,» (2022) taking home 4 awards.
The award ceremony will take place on November 16, and the organization has gradually completed the lineup of performances. In the latest batch of confirmed artists, we find Maluma, Rosalía, Shakira, Milo J, and Sebastián Yatra (who is also hosting). They will join an already star-studded lineup including Pablo Alborán, Edgar Barrera, Camilo, Juanes, Ozuna, Manuel Carrasco, and more.
The lineup of performances also features emerging artists such as Borja, Natascha Falcão, GALE, Paola Guanche, Joaquina, and León Leiden. They all join the initially confirmed artists: Maria Becerra, Bizarrap, Feid, Kany García, Carin León, Christian Nodal, Rauw Alejandro, and Alejandro Sanz, as well as Laura Pausini, who has become the honoree of the Person of the Year 2023.
