Lady Gaga has had to postpone her Miami stop on The MAYHEM Ball Tour. The reason isn’t her recent debut in the series Wednesday, but an unexpected vocal health issue that forced her to change plans on her doctor’s orders.
She announced the news herself on social media (Insta story). “Hi everyone I am really so so sorry but I need to postpone tonight’s show in Miami,” she wrote. “During rehearsal last night and my vocal warmup tonight my voice was extremely strained and both my [doctor] and vocal coach have advised me not to go on because of the risk it poses.”
Gaga explained that, while the decision was painful, it was necessary to protect her voice in the long run: “I want to be hardcore and just push through this for you but I don’t want to risk long term or permanent damage on my vocal cords. There is a significant risk based on all our combined experience with a show like ours and as you know I sing live every night.”

Cancellations like this can be tough on fans who’ve planned their trips—flights, hotels, and all—to see her live. Gaga knows it, and she made sure to acknowledge that directly to her Little Monsters.
“Hope you can forgive me and accept my sincerest apologies for any disappointment […] I tried so hard to avoid this. I take serious care of myself to be able to put on this highly demanding show. Love my fans so much. Respect you and hope you can accept my sincere regretful apology. We are trying to reschedule the show as quickly as possible,” she concluded.

For now, there’s no new date for the Miami concert. Gaga’s calendar is packed, but fans can be sure she’ll find a way to make it happen. In the meantime, we can keep replaying the cinematic spectacle she created with Tim Burton in ‘The Dead Dance’ video—along with the eerie legend of the Island of the Dolls.
