The wait is over. After months of speculation and social media theories, Netflix has finally revealed the character that Lady Gaga will play in the second season of Wednesday, starring Jenna Ortega. She will portray Rosaline Rotwood, an enigmatic and legendary teacher at Nevermore Academy.

The streaming platform recently shared the first official image of Gaga in the series, and no one has been left indifferent. The Mayhem star appears completely dressed in white, with pale skin and a deep, mysterious gaze. At her elbow, as her loyal companion, rests «Thing,» the iconic hand from the series. A phantasmagoric look that fits perfectly with the gothic and supernatural aesthetic of the production.

Rosaline Rotwood will debut in the second season of Wednesday, airing on September 3. Although the first episodes are already available from August 6, Gaga does not appear in them. Her character has been saved as a strong narrative card, expected to appear between the fifth and sixth episodes.

But that’s not all. Lady Gaga has also composed an original song for the series, titled Dead Dance, which was presented at an exclusive event in New York, the Graveyard Gala, organized by Netflix and Spotify. There, Gaga surprised attendees with a preview of the single, which blends dark and funky rhythms. According to the artist herself, the song is inspired by a breakup.

«Dead Dance is about how the end of a relationship can kill hope in love, but also how we are reborn dancing with our friends,» she shared.

During the gala, Gaga shared the stage with Jenna Ortega, who did not hesitate to praise the singer.

«Seeing her turn into Rotwood was surreal. It’s like she had always been a part of Nevermore,» Ortega declared.

Both Ortega and Gaga dazzled in theatrical and gothic looks that fully stole the spotlight.

With this addition, Wednesday promises to elevate its level of darkness, mystery, and style even further. Will Rosaline Rotwood be an ally or a new threat to Wednesday Addams? We’ll have to wait to find out.
