Ariana Grande just surprised fans with an exciting announcement! Through her Instagram Stories, she posted a “breaking news” update from a fictional newspaper called The Sunshine Spotlight. So, what’s the news? She’s releasing a short film titled Brighter Days Ahead, which will accompany the deluxe edition of her album Eternal Eunshine. And yes—it will be shown in select movie theaters.

The announcement included a link to a sign-up page where fans can register to receive updates on how to attend a screening. However, the site—run by Universal Music Group—clarifies that signing up doesn’t guarantee entry.

The official poster reveals that Brighter Days Ahead is written and directed by Christian Breslauer and Ariana Grande, and produced by London Alley and The Lucky Bastards Inc., in collaboration with Republic Records and the artist herself. The short film will feature music from the upcoming eternal sunshine (deluxe).

When and Where Will Brighter Days Ahead Be Shown?

The film will be screened in four cities on Sunday, March 30:

  • Boca Raton
  • Chicago
  • Los Angeles
  • New York

A Top-Tier Creative Team

Brighter Days Ahead brings together a talented team of industry professionals. The short film features costume design by Mimi Cutrell, editing by Luis Caraza, production design by Alex Delgado, and cinematography by Jeff Cronenweth, ASC—who’s known for his work on films like Fight Club, Gone Girl, and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

Christian Breslauer, who co-directed the project, has already worked with Ariana Grande on several music videos, including Yes, And?, We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love), and The Boy Is Mine, all part of the eternal sunshine album. Caraza and Delgado also contributed to the last two videos, bringing consistency and style to the visual world of this new era.

The deluxe version of eternal sunshine, which accompanies the short film, includes six new tracks: Intro (End of the World) Extended, Twilight Zone, Warm, Dandelion, Past Life, and Hampstead. The original album, released earlier in 2024, spent two weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

Both the Brighter Days Ahead short film and the deluxe edition of the album are set to drop on Friday, March 28—and fans are counting down the days.
