Shakira seems to be setting the stage for a big 2026. It’s a milestone year—35 years since she released her debut album, Magia, back in 1991—and all signs point to something special in the works. Her latest social media post has sent a wave of excitement through the Latin music world with a simple but thrilling message: “Get ready for new music!!”
The singer from Barranquilla shared a photo from the recording studio, taken just before two of her final U.S. concerts. Ahead of her shows in Central and South America. In the image, she looks excited and genuinely happy about what’s coming.
“Cooking something up… Get ready for new music…!! See you in LA on August 4th and 5th at SoFi Stadium!” she wrote. Much to the delight of her fans, who are still buzzing from the live debut of her most recent album Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, released in March 2024.
What’s still unclear is whether Shaki is working on a standalone single, a deluxe edition of Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran with new tracks or collaborations, or if she’s kicking off a whole new era to celebrate the 35th anniversary of her debut album. Just a few weeks ago, she confirmed she’d be writing a new song for the soundtrack of the Zootopia sequel. So there’s definitely more to come.
Shakira is also about to begin the final stretch of her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran tour across the Americas. The next leg starts August 11 in Mexico, where she’ll perform for the next two months. After a short one-month break, she’ll return to the stage in October for shows in Cali and Bogotá.
Then she’ll hit Quito (Ecuador), Ñuñoa (Chile), Asunción (Paraguay), Montevideo (Uruguay), and three shows in Lima (Peru) throughout November and December, before wrapping things up with two final concerts in Buenos Aires at the Vélez Sarsfield Stadium on December 8 and 9.
