Shakira is without a doubt one of the most influential artists of all time. As a Latina, she’s arguably the greatest—someone who built her career brick by brick, not just for herself but also paving the way for other Latin artists. Her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour proves exactly that, becoming a turning point in live music history.

And while she’s done this across the globe, Mexico has been her biggest stage. The Colombian superstar didn’t just win hearts with her energy, talent, and charisma—she shattered every possible record at Mexico City’s Estadio GNP Seguros. With 12 sold-out shows, she drew in more than 780,000 fans and pulled over $137 million in ticket sales.

What started as a small set of dates quickly turned into a cultural phenomenon. The demand was so intense that Shakira and the event organizers had no choice but to keep adding show after show.

Shaki just broke Grupo Firme’s record of nine shows, setting a new bar. But the impact of her tour hasn’t just been musical—it’s also been economic and cultural. In Mexico alone, it’s estimated to have brought in around $30 million, boosting hotel occupancy and giving the local economy a major lift.

A Setlist for Every Generation

Across all her shows, the Barranquilla icon has given fans a journey through her entire career. The setlist blended timeless hits like ‘Estoy Aquí,’ ‘Inevitable,’ ‘La Tortura,‘ Hips Don’t Lie,’ and ‘Waka Waka’ with tracks from her latest album, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran.

The production was on another level: massive LED screens, huge choreographies, multiple outfit changes, and cutting-edge stage design—with surprise guest stars to match the hype.

One of the most emotional moments in Mexico came when she performed ‘Sombras Nada Más’ with Mariachi Gama Mil. It was both a tribute to Mexican music and a heartfelt dedication to her father, earning one of the loudest ovations of the tour.

The tour’s cultural and social impact lit up the capital, creating a citywide celebration and bringing together fans across generations.

Shakira to Mexico

At her final show at Estadio GNP Seguros, Shakira couldn’t hide her emotions—or her tears. “What I lived last night is something that only happens once in a lifetime. My last night here, after 12 shows at GNP Stadium with 65,000 people each night, in a city that’s hosted the biggest artists in the world.”

The Colombian also thanked Mexico for always believing in her and went on to say: “For singing, crying, and laughing with me through these 30 years—and for this tribute, one of the most important of my career. I’ll carry you in my heart every single day. You’ve been my family forever. I love you, Mexico!”

In between songs, she also opened up about strength and resilience: “You all know these last two years of my life haven’t been easy—but nobody escapes falling down. What I’ve learned is that we, as women, when we fall, we get back up a little wiser, a little stronger, a little more resilient.”

Upcoming Dates and What’s Next

After wrapping up in Mexico City, Shakira is taking the tour to other major stops in the country: Tijuana, Hermosillo, Chihuahua, Torreón, Monterrey, Querétaro, Guadalajara, Puebla, and Veracruz—where she’s set to make history with a massive show at Luis Pirata Fuente Stadium on September 24.

From there, the tour heads south through Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Paraguay, Uruguay, and Argentina, with shows lined up through December 2025—and more European dates expected to be announced soon.
