Since Britney Spears and Sam Asghari announced their divorce in 2023, the personal trainer and actor had largely stayed silent about their marriage. However, the 30-year-old Iranian recently broke his silence on a podcast, making it clear that his relationship with the pop star was nothing short of a rollercoaster.

“One of the hardest things, I think, to deal with when you go into entertainment is your parents and the people around you. Everything that happens, and everybody that comes into your life that’s taken advantage — that damages you because those are the people that are closest to you,” Asghari revealed.

From a Fairytale Romance to a Chaotic Reality

When Asghari met Spears in 2016, he never expected their relationship to thrust him into the spotlight. He admitted that while he knew who she was, he had never been a big fan of her music. Their first encounter on the set of her Slumber Party music video, he shared, led to an instant connection.

Everything seemed to be going well until Asghari learned about Spears’ legal conservatorship, which restricted her ability to make her own decisions. He described it as the most bizarre and complicated situation he had ever witnessed. He also admitted that he couldn’t grasp how an adult woman needed her family’s approval for even the simplest choices. To him, the entire arrangement felt completely unreasonable.
