Quentin Tarantino has announced a sequel to one of his most celebrated films, and it comes with an impressive lineup. The news broke on April Fool’s Day, so many people assumed it was just another prank. But a day later, the announcement remained—and now it’s clear this is no joke.

While fans have long hoped for a third Kill Bill movie, that’s not what Tarantino has in store. And that’s despite the fact that the story seemed set up for a sequel: the originals hinted at a future revenge plot against The Bride, and Maya Hawke—daughter of Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke—is now an actress and could have played The Bride’s daughter.

So, which film is getting a follow-up? As revealed in the article title, it’s the award-winning Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. The film, led by Leonardo DiCaprio, is getting a sequel—but maybe not the way fans would expect. It will still be a movie, yes, but Tarantino won’t be directing it himself. Instead, he’s passed the baton to David Fincher.

The project will be produced by Netflix, which makes it all the more unique. It’s not common to see a high-profile director like David Fincher—known for cult classics like Fight Club and Se7en—take on a sequel, especially one based on a studio film now transitioning to a streaming platform.

Brad Pitt is confirmed to return as Cliff Booth, the role that earned him his first Oscar for acting. It’s still unknown whether Leonardo DiCaprio will be part of the cast, and Margot Robbie isn’t expected to return—though her absence might make sense based on where the story is headed.

So far, not much else has been revealed, but what we do know is that this will officially be Tarantino’s next project. This time, though, he’s stepping in as a screenwriter, not a director. That means it won’t count toward his long-standing plan to cap his directing career at ten films. As for that highly anticipated final movie? Fans will have to wait a little longer.
