Katy Perry has always made us feel like we’re in space—but now, she’s actually heading there. The singer has been chosen to be part of an upcoming Blue Origin mission, the space company founded by Jeff Bezos.
What makes this mission even more special is that it will be the first-ever spaceflight with an all-female crew. Six women, each accomplished in their own fields, have been selected for this historic journey. The last time an all-female space mission made history was with Valentina Tereshkova, who became the first woman to travel to space alone in 1963.
There’s no exact launch date for the New Shepard mission yet, but it’s expected to take place in spring 2025. With this launch, Blue Origin is not only pushing the limits of space travel but also marking a major step forward for gender equality in space exploration.
