Katy Perry (and Justin Trudeau) has been all over the headlines lately—and for more than one reason. It all started with the release of her latest album, which sadly didn’t perform as well as she’d hoped. Then came her spot on an all-women spaceflight, which, while historic, also sparked some backlash. Not long after, rumors began circulating about a possible breakup with her longtime partner, actor Orlando Bloom, after nearly a decade together.

Now, Katy is once again at the center of attention—this time because of her unexpected connection with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. The two were seen having dinner together in Montreal on Tuesday, July 29, and the sighting quickly set off speculation about a potential romance.

Trudeau, 53, was previously married to Sophie Grégoire. The couple, who share three children, announced their divorce in 2023 after 18 years of marriage. On Wednesday, July 30, Trudeau was spotted in the crowd at Katy’s Lifetimes World Tour concert at the Bell Centre, which only added more fuel to the fire.

Justin Trudeau isn’t the type to just sit back quietly and watch—he gets fully into the moment. And thanks to videos shared by fans at the show, we’ve seen him singing along to some of Katy Perry’s biggest hits.

It seems like he’s especially a fan of her Teenage Dream era. His enthusiastic singalong to ‘Firework’ is already a pop culture moment. Trudeau had a front-row seat and looked like he was enjoying every second of the concert.

Katy Perry’s Tour: A Big Comeback

Katy Perry’s The Lifetimes Tour kicked off on April 23, 2025, in Mexico City, marking her return to touring after seven years. While she did have a Las Vegas residency during that time, this is her first global tour in a while.

The tour celebrates her 2024 album 143 and her entire music career. Katy herself described the show as “Disneyland on wheels,” with a setlist packed with fan favorites like ‘Firework’ and ‘Roar’. The tour wraps up on December 7 in Abu Dhabi.
