Twenty years after the iconic film The Devil Wears Prada, Andrea, Miranda, and Emily are set to return in a brand-new story. The sequel is officially in production, and just this week we got our first glimpse of Anne Hathaway back in character as Andrea. Judging by the first look, the movie is once again set to deliver some unforgettable fashion moments. Could Dua Lipa be part of the cast?
What caught everyone by surprise, though, was the sudden wave of photos on social media showing Dua seemingly on the set of The Devil Wears Prada 2. In the images, the singer is seen walking through New York City surrounded by what appears to be a film crew.
Dua is dressed in striking outfits. In one look, where she’s seen walking a dog, she’s wearing a brown wool coat, a pleated tartan skirt, and a crisp white blouse—finished off with vintage-style sunglasses straight out of the ’90s. In another, more laid-back look, she’s seen in an all-black outfit: a simple T-shirt and matching pants.

But for fans already getting their hopes up, there’s a twist—the photos aren’t recent, and as of now, Dua Lipa is not involved in The Devil Wears Prada 2 (at least, not publicly). The images actually date back to 2021, taken during New York Fashion Week. In some of them, she’s even seen alongside her then-boyfriend Anwar Hadid, brother of Gigi and Bella Hadid.
Although Dua Lipa isn’t currently part of The Devil Wears Prada 2, it wouldn’t be far-fetched to imagine her making a cameo. In 2023, she appeared as Mermaid Barbie in Barbie and also performed one of the film’s standout tracks, ‘Dance the Night’.
Then in 2024, she returned to the big screen with a role in the action-comedy Argylle, making The Devil Wears Prada 2 a potential third film credit for the singer.
But even if she doesn’t appear on screen, she could still be involved through the soundtrack. After all, Dua Lipa has proven she’s more than capable of delivering original songs for major films. In addition to Barbie, she also contributed ‘Swan Song’ to the Alita: Battle Angel soundtrack—making her a strong candidate to bring a musical touch to The Devil Wears Prada 2.
