Cazzu has officially released her highly anticipated studio album, Latinaje, on April 25. The project celebrates the diversity and cultural richness of Latin America through 14 tracks that explore a wide range of genres, including tango, folklore, bachata, corrido tumbado, merengue, ballad, and funk.

The album’s first single, ‘La Cueva,’ is a melancholic track that marks a departure from Cazzu’s signature trap sound — and it quickly became a trending hit. It also ranked among the top five global debuts on Spotify for a Latin artist.

Her second single, ‘Dolce,’ a corrido tumbado, further cemented her connection with Mexican culture. The third single, ‘Con Otra,’ shifted once again, this time channeling the spirit of Selena Quintanilla’s iconic cumbia style.

The album opens with ‘Copla’, an intro that captures Cazzu’s Latin American identity, setting the tone for a deep and varied musical journey. ‘Mala Suerte’ is a bachata that tells the story of a woman surrounded by luxury but feeling empty inside. Meanwhile, ‘Me Tocó Perder’ dives into folklore, a genre especially meaningful to Cazzu due to the influence of her father, who is a folk music composer.

‘Ódiame’ channels the spirit of traditional Argentine tango, with nods to iconic figures like Tita Merello. ‘Pobrecito Mi Patrón’ is a ballad that reflects on the value of material things and the dynamics of power. Engreído,’ a bolero featuring Elena Rose, explores the pain of heartbreak. Salsa makes its mark with ‘Que Disparen,’ and ‘Inti’ stands out as an emotional love letter to her daughter.

The album also features Ahora,’ a fusion of flamenco rhythms alongside Maka, and Loca, which brings in Brazilian funk through a collaboration with WIU. The album wraps up with Menú De Degustación,’ an energetic merengue that closes the album on a high note.

From Cazzu, with Love for Latinaje

Reflecting on this project, Cazzu shared: “I dedicate this album to music lovers, to dreamers, and to women born in places where it sometimes feels like dreams don’t fit — like me, growing up in a very small town, far from the big city, far from Buenos Aires where everything seems to happen. I dedicate it to all the women out there who feel their dreams are too big for where they come from. No dream is ever too big to be achieved.”

Latinaje is, without a doubt, Cazzu’s most ambitious project yet, placing women at the center of the story and exploring themes of strength, diversity, and vulnerability. Have you listened to it yet?
