All Beyoncé fans had January 14 marked on their calendars due to the announcement the singer was set to make. However, they will have to keep waiting because while there was an announcement, it wasn’t the one everyone was expecting.

After her Christmas Day NFL halftime show, Beyoncé shared a video of herself on horseback, waving an American flag. In it, she teased an announcement for January 14, sparking countless theories about what she might reveal.

But a larger issue has disrupted her plans: the Los Angeles wildfires. California is in chaos due to the tragedy, especially in Hollywood. Along with the heartbreaking human toll—so many lives lost and missing—countless homes have been destroyed.

Because of this, Beyoncé decided to postpone her announcement. She shared a statement to inform her fans:

“The January 14 announcement will be postponed to a later date due to the devastation caused by the ongoing wildfires around areas of Los Angeles.”

Like much of the world, she is deeply moved by the tragedy and is anxiously following the situation as the fires remain uncontained.

“I continue to pray for the healing and rebuilding for the families suffering from trauma and loss. We are so blessed to have brave first responders who continue to work tirelessly to protect the Los Angeles community,” she shared.

And she hasn’t been idle. “To join our efforts to support those affected, please visit @Beygood. Love, B.” She has established a foundation to provide financial assistance to those who have lost everything.

The BeyGOOD LA Fire Relief Fund has already donated $2.5 million to directly support families who lost their homes and community organizations at the forefront of relief efforts. “Please join us by contributing what you can,” she wrote alongside her statement.

The Backlash

While many of her fans have applauded her solidarity with the people suffering in Los Angeles, others have expressed frustration. Some believe she should have warned them earlier instead of making them wait, especially those hoping for world tour dates.
