It’s been about eight months since the biggest fashion celebration took place at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art. The Met Gala, a charitable event organized by Anna Wintour, raises funds for the Costume Institute and celebrates the creativity and originality of fashion designers. Prominent figures from various industries, sponsored by major fashion houses, mark the Met Gala on their calendars—it’s an unmissable event everyone talks about.
This year’s theme drew inspiration from J.G. Ballard’s tale, The Garden of Time. It was a reinterpretation of Sleeping Beauty and the revival of fashion’s essence. The attendees showcased their originality, from Kylie Jenner’s minimalist Oscar de la Renta gown to Camila Cabello’s ice bag accessory and Zendaya’s breathtakingly naturalistic Galliano look.
Music played a vital role in this spectacular event. Artists such as Karol G, Rosalía, Sam Smith, and Kylie Minogue graced the red carpet. However, the undeniable highlight was the iconic Ariana Grande, whose performance left everyone mesmerized.
Ariana kicked off the gala with a musical show, a dazzling blend of talent and style. Dressed in a fairytale-inspired layered green gown with gold dust and crystal and mirror embroidery by John Galliano, she epitomized the evening’s theme.
Grande delivered a stunning medley of her greatest hits. She opened with Into You from Dangerous Woman, followed by 7 Rings from Thank U, Next, and concluded with songs from her latest album, Eternal Sunshine. Tracks included The Boy Is Mine, Yes, and?, and the chart-topping We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love).
To close her solo segment, Ariana performed a heartfelt rendition of Once Upon a Dream, the iconic theme from Disney’s Sleeping Beauty (1959), perfectly tying into the gala’s theme.

The evening’s biggest surprise came when Cynthia Erivo, Ariana’s co-star in the film Wicked, joined her onstage. Dressed in a striking Thom Browne design, Erivo held Grande’s hand as they delivered a breathtaking duet of When You Believe. Originally performed by Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey for The Prince of Egypt, their powerful rendition and palpable chemistry earned a standing ovation.
Fans were eager to see footage of this masterpiece, as the event is private. Until now, only low-quality clips had surfaced. However, actress and former model Cara Delevingne shared the full performance on her social media, highlighting it as one of her favorite moments of 2024.
Delevingne captioned her post: «This video speaks for itself. Happy 2025 to everyone. This is my gift to you—one of my favorite moments of the year. This performance shook me to my core. These two women, their friendship, their voices, the message…»

Her post came as a delightful surprise to fans and the stars themselves.
The performance has since received widespread admiration for the duo’s immense talent and connection on stage. Many have uploaded the video to YouTube, allowing fans worldwide to relive the magic of that unforgettable moment at the 2024 Met Gala.
