Achraf Hakimi Breaks His Silence Hiba Abouk Divorce

While life seems to be smiling on Hiba Abouk, who is more in love than ever after regaining stability following her dramatic divorce from Achraf Hakimi, the soccer player has broken his silence, speaking about what he describes as one of the hardest moments of his life.

In an interview on Anas Bukhash’s YouTube channel, Hakimi openly discussed his separation from the mother of his children and addressed the sexual assault accusation brought against him. The PSG player made it clear that this was the first time he was publicly addressing these topics and emphasized that the case remains under judicial review.

«The truth is that when we are successful and things are going well, we become easy targets for certain people. You can’t trust many of the people around you. When we handed this matter over to the justice system, we saw it was just a form of blackmail (…) This will all be resolved soon, the whole truth will come to light, and then we can talk more about it (…) I’ve learned not to trust too many people, and that in this world, you have to be careful,» he explained, refraining from giving further details about the accusation.

Hakimi and Abouk’s divorce has not been the only one to capture attention in the soccer world, as it was followed by others such as Álvaro Morata and Alice Campello’s, as well as Pep Guardiola and Cristina Serra’s.

Hakimi Opens Up About His Divorce from Hiba Abouk

During the interview, Anas Bukhash took the opportunity to ask Hakimi about his personal life. Nearly two years after the couple’s separation was announced, Achraf became emotional as he reflected on what he undoubtedly considers the worst moment of his life.

«Since my divorce, I’ve learned to take better care of myself and to love myself and the people around me more. When I was with my ex-wife, I accepted things that I wouldn’t accept now,» he shared.

After their divorce, Hiba discovered that all of Hakimi’s assets were under his mother’s name, leaving her with nothing. Hakimi explained the reasoning behind this arrangement: «From a young age, I started earning money, but as I was underage, I couldn’t manage it myself, so my mother handled it. She’s always helped me with finances. Because when you’re successful, there are very few people you can truly trust, and your mother is the one person who will love you with or without money and will try to protect it so it lasts into the future. My mother didn’t start managing my money after I got married; she had always done it, and that’s how things continued. Why would I change that?»

Achraf Hakimi and Hiba Abouk announced their separation in March 2023, following the soccer player’s indictment for an alleged sexual assault in France. Abouk stated that the decision to separate was made before the accusations against Hakimi became known, and she expressed her support for the victims, trusting in the judicial process.
