The stage was set for the highly anticipated 2025 BRIT Awards ceremony, but as with any live event, last-minute twists can unexpectedly alter plans. In a disappointing turn of events for the prestigious British awards show, one of the most eagerly awaited performances scheduled for March 1 will not be taking place.
Shaboozey announced through social media that he won’t be able to attend the awards gala. He was set to present his 2024 hit, ‘A Bar Song (Tipsy)’, to the public.
“For reasons beyond my control sadly won’t make my planned. Appearance at the Brit awards in London on March 1st. Want to say good luck to all the nominees and to all the performers on the night. I’ll be watching from home. With the rest of you, wishing I was there,” the artist posted.

The Brit Awards organizers swiftly responded to the announcement by officially confirming two artists who will step in to replace the American soloist: Ezra Collective and Jorja Smith.
The complete lineup of performances at the BRITs also includes other global music stars who will share the stage, such as JADE, Myles Smith, Teddy Swims, and The Last Dinner Party. They will be responsible for showcasing some of the biggest hits that have dominated the UK charts over the past year. Including ‘Lose Control’ and ‘Angel of My Dreams’.»
Some of the most nominated artists this year include Charli XCX, leading with five nominations, including Artist of the Year. Her song with Billie Eilish, ‘Guess,’ is also up for Song of the Year, and her album BRAT is in the running for Album of the Year.
Another notable mention goes to The Cure. They have received their first nominations in over three decades for their album Songs Of A Lost World. They are nominated in categories like Album of the Year, Group of the Year, and Alternative/Rock Act.
In the international category, Brit Awards regulars like Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, Benson Boone, Billie Eilish, and Chappell Roan are expected to make appearances.
