Bésame… During the second leg of her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran Tour in Miami, Shakira surprised the audience with a very special guest to perform one of her most iconic songs. Alejandro Sanz joined her on stage to sing ‘La Tortura,’ marking 20 years since the release of the hit that defined a generation.

Now, a new announcement has thrilled fans of both artists: this legendary duo is reuniting for Alejandro Sanz’s newly announced—and rather unexpected—album, titled ¿Y ahora qué? (And Now What?). More than just a question, the title feels like a reflection on his artistic journey and evolution.

The album, set to be released this Friday, May 23, features six tracks that explore Sanz’s most emotional and introspective sides. While staying true to his signature sound, the album embraces new creative directions. Among the most anticipated songs is his collaboration with Shakira, titled ‘Bésame’ (Kiss Me) —a track that’s already generating buzz and is expected to become another landmark moment in their shared history.

Tracklist for ¿Y ahora qué?

Along with ‘Bésame,’ the album includes powerful and unexpected collaborations, such as Grupo Frontera on ‘Hoy no me siento bien’ and Manuel Turizo on ‘¿Cómo sería?’. With this project, Alejandro Sanz builds bridges between generations and musical styles, blending pop, ballads, and new sounds that still reflect the emotional depth he’s known for.

Full tracklist:

  1. ‘Palmeras en el jardín’ (Palm Trees in the Garden)
  2. ‘Bésame’ (feat. Shakira) (Kiss Me)
  3. ‘El vino de tu boca’ (The Wine of Your Mouth)
  4. ‘Hoy no me siento bien’ (feat. Grupo Frontera) (I’m Not Feeling Well Today)
  5. ‘Eso es amor’ (That’s Love)
  6. ‘¿Cómo sería?’ (feat. Manuel Turizo) (What Would It Be Like?)

This new album marks the end of a long break from releasing music—a pause that many believed was tied to a shift in direction, both personally and professionally. In a recent interview, Sanz opened up about this turning point and the reasons behind it:

“I needed something to reenergize me—I was burned out. I felt creatively drained and had lost the spark to keep writing songs.” He added, “I’m happy to be joining the Sony Music family. I’m sure we’re going to have a great time doing what we love most.”
