The new phenomenon of «corridos tumbados» (a subgenre of corrido music) who has succeeded his predecessors, Natanael Cano and Peso Pluma, continues to make waves wherever he goes, and he’s only 19 years old. His previous singles, «La Víctima» and «La Diabla,» achieved the coveted virality on TikTok, propelling them to the top of the charts both within and outside of the United States, also making a debut on the Billboard Hot 100.
Now he’s back with a post-breakup anthem (curiously released on the same day as Shakira’s new album, Women No Longer Cry, where we already had plenty of that). In «Corazón de Piedra,» Xavi seems to aim to show a more emotional side of his relationships, but not necessarily a more open one.

Xavi’s «Corazón de Piedra» is an ode to just that: insensitivity, putting up a tough front. In this single, the Mexican-American artist talks about a breakup as if he couldn’t care less about his ex. «And if she leaves, well, let her go / Because I don’t have time to waste / She thinks she’s the only woman,» sings the young artist born in Phoenix, Arizona.

In the music video, we see Xavi not appearing too upset about the breakup, as while the young girl who used to accompany him gathers her things, he prepares for the next party in an ultra-decadent and luxurious dream mansion. Later, as he dances with other bikini-clad girls whom he invited to his celebration, his ex watches his posts on Instagram from the car.
