Why Peso Pluma Released His Dream Collaboration with Kanye West and Nobody Noticed

The Mexican star has finally fulfilled one of his big dreams

Archivado en: Peso Pluma  •

When Peso Pluma visited the LOS40 studios back in October, he revealed that one of his goals was to collaborate with hip-hop global icon Kanye West. Both urban stars share more than just their love life controversies; they have a lot in common artistically as well.

On one hand, Kanye has become a global reference in the hip-hop genre, with his influence transcending music to make a significant impact in the fashion world and pop culture.

Similarly, the Jalisco native has risen to the top of the industry in just about a year, breaking several records and topping important charts inside and outside the United States. Furthermore, he has also gained recognition as a personality.

That’s why it’s not surprising that Peso Pluma, also known as Doble P, finally achieved one of his dreams: to collaborate with Ye. However, most people seem to have missed the big news.

This might be because Doble P’s latest collaboration, a drill track named ‘Gimme a Second,’ features only Rich The Kid in its title. In fact, West reportedly worked on the track as a producer, according to several media outlets and recognized music platforms like Genius. However, Kanye’s name doesn’t even appear in the song’s credits, where other well-known producers such as Lab Cook and DJ Durel are listed.

Of course, we must not forget that West is a prominent figure as a producer for several hip-hop, rap, and trap artists such as Lil Nas X, The Weeknd, Tyler, The Creator, and Rich The Kid himself, for whom Ye has already produced songs like ‘Carnival.’

And here’s another fun fact: Peso Pluma raps in English in the last verse of ‘Gimme a Second’! And he does it well. Remember, the ‘LADY GAGA’ singer spent his adolescence living in the United States and speaks fluent English. Now we’re wondering, will he bring Rich The Kid and Kanye West on stage to perform ‘Gimme A Second’ during the ‘Exodo Tour’ in the USA?
