Katy Perry is busy promoting her new single, «Women’s World,» which comes out on July 11. And, as expected, her return to music after four years has been a big celebration for all her fans. She’s started promoting the first preview of her new album, which will be out before the end of the year.
How did she do it? She showed up in Paris wearing a gorgeous red Balenciaga dress with a 200-meter train that had the complete lyrics of «Women’s World» on it. However, this new release has stirred up some controversy.

In the credits for «Women’s World» that showed up on Genius a few days ago, Dr. Luke, the stage name of Lukasz Sebastian Gottwald, was listed as the producer. He has been in a high-profile legal battle with singer Kesha.
Back in 2014, Kesha accused Dr. Luke of sexual, emotional, and physical abuse going back to 2005. The legal dispute ended in 2023 with an out-of-court settlement. The «Tik Tok» singer wrapped up this chapter with a strong statement: “Only God knows what happened that night.”
Perry is now dealing with some backlash, with people boycotting her upcoming release. For example, at the Capitol Records Walk of Fame star (Katy’s record label) in Los Angeles, several posters have appeared with the message ‘Katy Perry loves rapists.’

In 2018, Kesha also claimed that Dr. Luke had raped Katy Perry. However, two years later, Katy denied this in court. So far, the «California Girls» singer hasn’t commented on the matter and is still focused on promoting her new music, even though the controversy is affecting this release.
