Katy Perry is Ready to Make her Musical Comeback with ‘Woman’s World’

Katy Perry is making a comeback. The pop star surprised everyone by announcing her new song «Woman’s World,» a strong and empowering single set to release on July 11th. This marks the start of her sixth studio album era. 

Since her fifth album Smile in 2020, Katy hasn’t released new music, except for a few collaborations and her cover of The Beatles’ ‘All You Need Is Love.’ She also celebrated the fifteenth anniversary of her debut album One Of The Boys with a special edition. But she’s been quiet on the music front lately. What’s behind this silence? It had fans curious because when a big artist like Katy Perry goes quiet, it usually means something significant is coming. 

After finishing her time on ‘American Idol’ and changing her profile picture to a retro-futuristic ’90s logo with the initials ‘KP,’ it was clear her sixth album was on its way. This was reinforced by a private listening party she hosted with fans and the press. Although attendees couldn’t share much due to a confidentiality agreement, everyone agreed that ‘KP6’ (as fans are calling her next project for now) will be dance-focused, include three collaborations, and is expected to be her best work yet. 

The announcement was accompanied by a TikTok video featuring a sneak peek of the song. Over a background of electronic beats, we hear the lyrics ‘Sexy, confident. Very smart. Sent from heaven. So smooth, so strong.’ To emphasize the last line, Katy Perry kisses her bicep. It seems like she’s been working out! She wants to make it clear that she’s prepared for whatever comes next.

Woman’s World will come with a music video, scheduled to be released a day after the single. Judging from the teaser and cover art, we can expect a vibrant, futuristic look with a focus on the human form contrasted with technology and modern themes. These elements will set the stage for Katy Perry’s comeback in the music scene.
