Just two months ago, ahead of the release of the film Wicked, Ariana Grande announced that she would use the break between filming the first installment of the movie and the second to fully refocus on her music career. However, it seems those plans have suddenly changed.
In October, the artist shared that she intended to do at least a small tour in 2025 to bring Eternal Sunshine, her latest album, to audiences worldwide. Even though the tour would have been shorter and smaller than usual due to her limited time, her role as Glinda in Wicked has kept her name prominent in the entertainment industry.
In fact, Grande herself broke the news on the Shut Up Evan podcast, confirming she might go on tour. She also mentioned it to fans who ran into her on the street and asked whether the rumors were true or just speculation.
Now, shortly after this collective excitement, her team has confirmed that these plans have been entirely canceled. Just a few days ago, rumors began circulating that a well-known ticketing company had reserved 15 dates for upcoming Ariana Grande concerts, all without any official announcement from the singer herself.
«There are no plans for a tour next year, but Ariana remains deeply appreciative of her fans and all their continued love, support, and excitement,» Republic Records announced on December 15, 2024.
Following this statement, it appears that Grande has other professional commitments that won’t leave her time to take on a major project like a tour between filming two of the most highly anticipated movies in recent years.
In recent years, Ariana Grande has taken several hiatuses from her career due to various challenges. From her breakup with Pete Davidson to the passing of her ex-partner Mac Miller, combined with the pressures of a globally impactful career, the artist has repeatedly chosen to step away from the spotlight.
In 2024, Grande reportedly stayed out of the public eye to focus on her acting career while filming Wicked. After her public reappearance and the release of Eternal Sunshine, many fans expressed concern over the singer’s appearance, particularly pointing out possible health issues. The we can’t be friends (wait for your love) singer did not hesitate to address these unfortunate remarks.

“The body that you’ve been comparing my current body to was the unhealthiest version of my body. I was on a lot of antidepressants and drinking on them and eating poorly,” she revealed on a 3-minute Tiktok clip. “[I was] at the lowest point of my life when I looked the way you consider my healthy, but that in fact wasn’t my healthy.”
“There are ways to compliment someone or to ignore something that you see that you don’t like, that I think we should help each other work towards,” she stated. “We should aim toward being safer, and keeping each other safer.”
“You never know what someone is going through,” Ariana added. “So even if you are coming from a loving place and a caring place, that person probably is working on it or has a support system that they are working on it with. Be gentle with each other and with yourselves.”
