The release of The Weeknd’s new album is just around the corner, arriving on January 24, 2025. Hurry Up Tomorrow will close the trilogy that began nearly five years ago, marking the end of a musical era that could even see the end of his most famous alter ego: «The Weeknd.»

During his show at Spotify’s Billions Club Live in Los Angeles on December, 17, Abel Tesfaye made it clear that his schedule for next year is going to be packed with commitments and projects. Dancing in the Flames, Timeless, and São Paulo are the first three songs we’ve discovered from his new album, but many more remain to be revealed.

«2024 is almost done but 2025 we’ve got some new s*** coming up. New album, new tour, new movie, new everything — we’re shutting this s*** down,» The Weeknd, said onstage (even thoung he has not announced official dates for a tour in 2025). We already knew about the album, and it seems the tour will last a long time: «Maybe after the stadium tour, we can go back in time and play in smaller venues,» the artist said, sending the crowd into a frenzy.

Almost three years after the release of his last album, The Weeknd is once again vying for the title of most-streamed male artist on platforms. This time, with the announcement of his upcoming studio album, Hurry Up Tomorrow, set to release on January 24, 2025. The artist will thus complete the final chapter of a trilogy that began in 2020 with After Hours, continued in 2022 with Dawn FM, and now culminates in what is likely to be his most complex and ambitious work to date.

Described by him as an introspective and existential journey, Hurry Up Tomorrow promises to take fans and regular listeners to the deepest place in the narrative that The Weeknd has been crafting over the years through his music. Exploring themes of redemption, the passage of time, and self-discovery, Abel encapsulates his creative and emotional evolution, presenting the final piece of a story that has been unfolding for the past five years.

Additionally, Hurry Up Tomorrow won’t just be an album—it will also be the title of a psychological thriller starring The Weeknd, Jenna Ortega, and Barry Keoghan. This movie, released alongside the album, promises to immerse audiences in a visual universe as intriguing as his music.
