Shakira Announces New Album, ‘Women No Longer Cry’: Release Date

The Colombian star has also explained why she chose to name her new studio work this way

Finally! We now know the name and release date of Shakira’s highly anticipated new album: Women No Longer Cry. Yes, you read it right – the Colombian star has taken one of the most famous verses from her session with Bizarrap to title her 11th studio work. And it’s no surprise! It’s a name that can perfectly summarize all the empowerment the singer has experienced in the last two years.

Women No Longer Cry, as confirmed by Shakira, will be released on March 22 on all platforms. It’s a long-awaited album. After all, the last studio work the star released was in 2017: El Dorado. Now, seven years later, the Colombian artist is coming back stronger than ever.

Shakira has also shared the cover of the album. In the image, we can see the face of the Colombian singer up close, looking at the sky and shedding silver tears. An image that directly reminds us of the Pieta and all those virgins praying to God. But it’s not the only photo the singer has shared from this new era. Shak has also uploaded three other images of the visuals. And it seems that in this new era, we will explore various facets of the artist. However, we are sure that some of the hits she has released in the past year will be on the album.

«Women No Longer Cry. My new album arriving on March 22, I didn’t create it alone but with all of you, and with my pack of she-wolves who have been there accompanying me every step of the way,» the Colombian wrote on her social media to announce the album.

Shakira has also revealed the reason why she chose to name this album this way: «Writing each song, I reconstructed myself. Singing them, my tears turned into diamonds and my vulnerability into resilience.»

Undoubtedly, Women No Longer Cry is one of the most awaited albums of 2024. Shakira has been one of the most listened-to stars in the world in 2023 and one of the most important musical stars of the last three decades. So yes, there is a lot of anticipation for this new album.
