It’s official: we’re just a month away from hearing Lady Gaga’s new music. The artist has announced that, following the release of Joker: Folie à Deux, she will drop the first single from her new album this October
As expected, the news has sent her Little Monsters all over the world into a frenzy. Even though the star has been involved in various musical projects (most notably her hit with Bruno Mars ‘Die With a Smile’), she hasn’t released a new album since Chromatica in 2020, which now marks four years since its release.
In a new interview for Vogue, Lady Gaga revealed who encouraged her to make another pop album. Yes, her 7th studio work is going to be pop, as Gaga confirmed. And we have her fiancé, Michael Polansky, to thank for that.

“Michael is the person who told me to make a new pop record. He was like, ‘Babe. I love you. You need to make pop music,’» she declares. “Like anyone would do for the person they love, I encouraged her to lean in to the joy of it. On the Chromatica tour, I saw a fire in her; I wanted to help her keep that alive all the time and just start making music that made her happy,” Polansky adds.
Lady Gaga’s New Album Release Date
The interview also reveals the release month for her new album. As Vogue reported, the upcoming project will drop in February 2025, three to four months after Gaga releases the first single.
What Will Her New Album Be Like?
Of course, Lady Gaga has also revealed more details about the album. It looks like we’re in for an era that will get everyone dancing! In fact, the journalist who interviewed Gaga described one of the tracks with the following words: “It’s intense and ominous—an old-school Gaga banger, unsettling but also buoyant.”
Gaga also shared that she’s a huge fan of contemporary artists, from Charli XCX to Chappell Roan, and of course, Billie Eilish.
“I mean, I really love them. I go on the internet and, like, cry. And I love Taylor Swift too. And Kesha. I watch it all, and I’m like: Yup. Go! Just Go.” Here, the journalist notes that her voice cracks and her eyes well up with tears. “I’m not only cheering them on, I want them to know that my heart is in it with them. And I want them all to feel really happy.”
