Just a few weeks ago, Jennifer Lopez announced her highly anticipated return to the stage to kick off her first tour in five years. The singer unveiled the dates for her upcoming tour, ‘This Is Me… Now,’ which was set to visit over 30 cities across North America between June and August. The tour aimed to showcase her catalog of hits along with new material from her ninth studio album, This is Me… Now, released on February 16th, a decade after her previous work.
However, some fans of the Puerto Rican artist will have to wait to see her live, as Lopez has canceled several shows on the tour without providing any explanation. Specifically, the 54-year-old superstar has scrapped all scheduled dates between August 22nd and 30th in Nashville (Tennessee), New Orleans (Louisiana), Raleigh (North Carolina), Atlanta (Georgia), Houston (Texas), Cleveland (Ohio), and Tampa (Florida).
According to Ticketmaster, the organizer ‘unfortunately had to cancel the event,’ and ‘no action is required to obtain a refund’ as customers will receive their money back through the same payment method used for purchase within the next 30 days. Although Jennifer Lopez, her team, or the event organizers have not issued any official statements, Entertainment Weekly reported that the cancellations were likely due to ‘logistical issues’ on the part of the tour promoter.
As mentioned earlier, Lopez dropped her latest album This Is Me… Now just last month. This album delves deep into life’s ups and downs, love, and relationships, highlighting the power of self-love, according to Jennifer herself. She penned and recorded the tracks between 2022 and 2023 at her Los Angeles home, collaborating with top-notch producers like Rogét Chayayed, Angel Lopez, Jeff Gitty Gitelman, HitBoy, Tay Kieth, Yeti Beats, Carter Lang, Kim Kaydence Krysiuk, Jason Derulo, and Brandon Riester.
The album packs a punch with 13 tracks: «This Is Me…Now,» «To Be Yours,» «Mad in Love,» «Can’t Get Enough,» «Rebound,» «Not.going.anywhere,» «Dear Ben, Pt.II,» «Hummingbird,» «Corazones y flores,» «Broken Like Me,» «This Time Around,» «Midnight Trip to Vegas,» and «Greatest Love Story Never Told.»
Accompanying the album is the film This Is Me… Now: A Love Story, a fictional tale depicting Jennifer’s romantic journey with actor Ben Affleck.
