Is Rauw Alejandro Changing His Name for His Next Musical Era?

As his next project approaches, will he change the name that catapulted him to fame?

Rauw Alejandro has been teasing his fans for weeks about his upcoming music ready to drop and take over the summer of 2024. Even though he’s released a few collaborations already, it seems like he’s holding out for something big. Tracks like «Byak» with Álvaro Díaz, «Santa» featuring Ayra Starr and Rvssian, «La Nena» with Lyanno, and «Espectacular» alongside Sky Rompiendo have given us a taste, but what’s next? When will he drop the rest of his projects? We’ll just have to wait and see. But it’s clear that his new musical era is getting closer.

And it’s not just his music that’s giving hints. Recently, he posted a series of photos from the Kentucky Derby, decked out in an outfit reminiscent of the Peaky Blinders style. But what really caught people attention wasn’t his outfit, but the caption he used. Instead of his stage name, he went with his birth name: Raúl Alejandro. Could this mean he’s planning to rebrand himself for his new music era?

And of course, fans didn’t miss a beat. They quickly flooded the post with comments, many of them using the singer’s real name. “Raúl, please, drop the album already,” says one fan. “Ready for the new era,” says another. “The new era is on its way” and “Raúl Alejandro Shelby” are some of the other comments you can spot, clearly referring to his Peaky Blinders-inspired look.

Whatever surprise the Puerto Rican artist has up his sleeve, we’re getting closer to finding out. While there’s no official release date for this new album yet, we’re confident it won’t be long before it’s out. Especially since he hinted that May would mark the start of this new phase.
