Last Friday, Coldplay released ‘We Pray,’ a sneak peek from their upcoming album Moon Music. The song, sung by Chris Martin with Burna Boy, Little Simz, Elyanna, and Argenitne singer, Tini, aims to be a beacon of hope, a kind of prayer for times when we feel lost. And yesterday, Dublin got to experience that light firsthand.
On Grafton Street, people passing by and tourists were caught off guard by a surprise performance from the five artists. Thanks to TikTok, they showed up right there with all the equipment they needed and played the song live, drawing hundreds of curious onlookers who quickly formed a circle around them.

As you can see in various clips shared by the band and the London rapper, each of them was wearing a GoPro-like camera. Meaning that they might have taken this special moment to film the music video, which hasn’t been released yet. From the moment they left the hotel, they were escorted by the police and private security to the center of the avenue, followed—almost like a pilgrimage or a procession—by everyone in the area.
This emotional live version is just a hint of what’s to come in the next few weeks. Each artist involved in the collaboration has recorded their own version. We might hear “We Pray” in Spanish by Tini, in Arabic with Elyanna… And there will also be a live version from Glastonbury, the festival where the song was first performed.

“Every note of this song shines with your brilliance. We can’t wait for everyone to hear your version on September 20,” the British band shared in the latest post by the Chilean-Palestinian singer. Meanwhile, the Argentine artist’s version will come out a little earlier, on September 6.
