Bad Bunny is back just in time for the holiday season with a track that could mark the start of a new musical chapter for 2025. His latest single, ‘EL CLúB,’ comes as he celebrates yet another year as one of the world’s most-streamed artists, according to Spotify Wrapped 2024. What makes this even more impressive is that he only released one solo track this year—‘Una Velita,’ a protest anthem—aside from his collaborations on ‘ADIVINO’ with Myke Towers and ‘Qué Pasaría…’ with Rauw Alejandro.

Fans already had a clue something new was coming. A few days before the release, Bad Bunny shared a carousel of photos on Instagram, sneakily including a preview of ‘EL CLúB.’ He also confirmed its release through his WhatsApp broadcast channel while sharing a heartfelt Thanksgiving message.

EL CLúB

The music video, directed by Stillz—one of Bad Bunny’s frequent collaborators—opens with the artist riding an elevator to the rooftop of the ‘El Club’ nightclub, where a crowd eagerly awaits his arrival. But the story takes an unexpected turn when the scene shifts: “it’s «two in the morning,” and he’s lying in bed, scrolling through social media, searching for clues about what “my ex might be doing.”

With its introspective vibe and late-night storytelling, ‘EL CLúB’ offers a fresh perspective while staying true to Bad Bunny’s unique style. Fans are already speculating what this new era might bring as he heads into 2025.

One of the most striking parts of the music video is a visually unique sequence that seems to have been created using Artificial Intelligence. In it, we see Benito kissing himself or turning into a baseball, blending surreal visuals with dream-like storytelling that feels straight out of the R.E.M. sleep phase—a mix of subconscious imagery and symbolic narrative.

At one point, his small house catches fire, leaving him with nothing but a box of meaningful memories. In a symbolic move, he buries the box and plants a Puerto Rican flag on top, reminiscent of the iconic moment when American astronauts placed the U.S. flag on the Moon in 1969.

“2019, a blink, and now we’re here. 2020, the last time I was happy. 2022, the last time I saw you. Life didn’t give me anything I asked for,” he sings, reflecting on his career—from the year he first rose to fame with his music to 2022, when he released his most romantic and commercially successful album, still in love with Gabriela Berlingeri.

‘EL CLúB’ English Lyrics

[Intro]

Yeah
2 AM at the club
Everyone’s having a blast
The women all over me
The hookah, the pills, and a blunt
Whoever I want says yes
Singing “LA CANCIÓN” like crazy
After this, we’re heading to—

[Chorus]

What could my ex be doing?
Haven’t seen her around in a while
Could it be that she’s moved on and doing well?
While I’m drunk, thinking
What could my ex be doing?
Haven’t seen her around in a while
Could it be that she’s moved on and doing well?
While I’m here, drunk, thinking

[Verse 1]

What the hell could she be doing?
Is she hanging out? Is she sleeping?
Is she smoking? Is she drinking?
Is she still single, or is she seeing someone?
Someone who’s not me, not me
Baby, that’s not me, not me
I bet I’d forget about her and lost $500
Once again, my feelings got the best of me
The guys think I’m fine, acting happy
But I’m not—I’m dead inside
The club is packed and yet feels empty
Because my girl isn’t here
The one I always laughed with
The one I always came to
The one I used to talk to every day
And now I don’t know anything, now I don’t know anything, hey

[Chorus]

What could my ex be doing?
Haven’t seen her around in a while
Could it be that she’s moved on and doing well?
While I’m here drunk, thinking

[Verse 2]

2019, a blink and now we’re here
2020, the last time I was happy
2022, the last time I saw you
Life didn’t give me a single thing I asked for
I don’t know what happened
I prayed to God, but even He ghosted me
The future hit me hard, left me stuck in the past
Happiness drifted away

[Outro]

And I wonder, what could you be doing?
Are you thinking about me?
Or maybe staring at the moon
While connecting with someone else
And talking about me to them, eh-eh
I just hope, at the very least
To be a good memory
To be a good memory
