Anitta is on a mission to dominate our playlists with her music. Following the release of «Double Team» with Brray and Bad Gyal on March 22, she’s gearing up to drop her new studio album. Interestingly, she postponed the release because Beyoncé had plans to drop her album on the same day, which also happens to be Anitta’s birthday on March 30.
Now, Funk Generation is set to hit digital platforms on April 26. This album promises to reflect Anitta’s Brazilian roots, paying homage to her homeland. It’s a meaningful move, considering how she’s always embraced her cultural heritage in her music, as seen in hits like «Funk Rave.»

“Funk Generation» is an album where I celebrate my roots. It’s where I express the power of Rio funk in every track, with its unique, danceable, and sensual rhythms. It’s a rhythm born in the favelas, where I grew up, and it exudes resilience and artistry in every community. I’m proud to work on a project about a genre that has been unfairly stigmatized in Brazil, but is gradually gaining recognition worldwide. In the album, I bring important collaborations that helped me tell this story. I’ve been involved in every step of the production and visual direction, and I’ve achieved the result I set out to achieve,” explains Anitta herself.
To get things started, besides releasing this collaboration with Brray and Bad Gyal, Anitta also debuted ‘Funk Generation: A Favela Story‘ in 2023, an EP featuring tracks like «Funk Rave,» «Used To Be,» and «Casi Casi.» And to further demonstrate her passion for the country of her birth, the «BELLAKEO» singer was very present at the Brazilian Carnival. In fact, she delighted fans in her homeland with a tour across the country, performing in front of 2 million people.
Now, Anitta is once again demonstrating that proudly proclaiming her Brazilian identity poses no problem for her. On the contrary, it has become the main message of her new musical projects.
