There’s a new episode of LOS40 Global Show – the first one this summer – featuring one of the most popular artists from the Dominican Republic. We’re talking, of course, about Tokischa,  a rising artist in the Spanish-speaking market that hasn’t stopped growing. Now, Tony Aguilar has had the chance to talk to her about her relationship with the Catalan artist, but also about her friendship with Madonna, her collaboration with Marshmello and the music she used to listen to as a child.

Madonna

«It’s been incredible. Madonna is an icon, a living legend. And for me, it’s a great source of pride to have her as a friend and to live that experience. When I’m older, I want to tell my children and grandchildren that it happened.»

Marshmello & her Favorite Song

«‘Estilazo’ is one of my favorite songs from last year. It’s a very queer song, very representative of the community. It speaks a lot of truth. It has a rhythm that I love and it’s one of my favorites for concerts.»

The Biggest Festivals

«There were so many people at Lollapalooza and at Coachella, I was a guest of my colleagues… I’m taking big steps and seeing that all the work I’ve put in these years is paying off. That brings a lot of satisfaction.»

Natti Natasha

«We haven’t connected yet, we haven’t had the opportunity. It would be really nice because we’re compatriots.»

Rosalía

«Rosalía invited me to collaborate on ‘La Combi Versace’ for her album. She messaged me on WhatsApp and we started talking. Then she sent me the song, I started working on it, and we went to the studio. That’s where we created ‘Linda,’ which is a dembow. And then we finished ‘La Combi,’ and it turned out fabulous. We’ve always stayed in constant communication and have a good friendship.»
